To achieve higher desired Rw value, changes to the wall would be required such as:
- Provide additional layers of plasterboard to internal side
- Provide a resilient mount system to semi-discontinue the timber studs thus minimising sound transmission through the studs
- Using steel studs instead of timber which will minimise sound transmission through the studs.
